Electric Guitar Fret Buzzing? Truss Rod?
Where abouts is the truss rod on a Schecter Damien FR? Not been playing for
long, tryna fix this fret buzz, sometimes occours on open strings... Any
help? Other tips? Thanks. If l can not fix the problem
myself... how much would a musician shop charge to fix? Almost sure they
are just catching on the frets. The guitar is used, but in great
condition, i've pretty much sorted the open strings buzz, just, happens
alot otherwise. Tried adjusting the bridge, not sure what i'm doing though/if it is doing anything. :S
If it is a neck adjustment it would only take at tech about 5
minutes at the most. Has it done it always or has it started lately. Maybe
after a string change.
truss rod is always down the neck. If you mean how to get to it
it is usually on the head under a plastic plate.
I would get someone who knows what there doing to sort it out because its
quite a complicated process.
If the guitar is fairly new there should be no problem with the truss rod. If you look down the neck there should be a slight curve inwards but only very slightly. If it looks ok it might just need setting up. try moving the strings away from the fret board by adjusting at the bridge.It shouldn't need to be adjusted much to stop the buzzing. Not sure on prices to sort this stuff out
